Testing and Setting the Saw


Getting this saw to run true is about tweaking the set of the teeth just right so that it won’t pull one way or the other. This is the trial and error process and the goal is to get the absolute minimum amount of set possible while still setting enough teeth to keep it cutting straight. On my 48″ saw I probably only set 15 teeth whereas the smaller saw was about 8 total. Go easy and take your time on this process.

There has been a little confusion about this saw. This is a frame saw dedicated to resawing. There are many kinds of frame saws set up for specific uses. Check out the Bow Saw page in the tool library for more information.
